    General Information for 2009 Submission of Abstracts

    2009 eXtension NATIONAL MEETING
    October 20-23, 2009
    Sheraton Westport Chalet, St. Louis, Missouri


    DEADLINE:
    11:59 p.m. EDT on Wednesday, June 17, 2009.


    ABSTRACT/ PRESENTATION GENERAL CONTENT AREAS:
    Presentations will be offered in one of four tracks:
    1. Community of Practice Successes and Strategies
    2. eXtension Implementation at the State and Local Level
    3. Effective Use of eXtension Tools and Technologies
    4. Key eXtension Discussions (roundtables of "hot topics")- please propose a topic for discussion in a roundtable format. Include brief introduction and discussion questions to be asked. Author will lead the roundtable.

    ABSTRACT/ PRESENTATION FORMAT:
    Abstracts to be a maximum of 300 words (not including title and speaker information) and will be made available to meeting attendees and the Extension community. If submitted abstracts are similar in content it may be necessary to combine these presentations allowing for broader perspective and experience. Presentations will be given in 45 minute time blocks including the actual presentation and Q&A and a 15 minute break to change rooms. The review committee reserves the right to adjust presentation length where necessary.


    ABSTRACT SUBMISSION:
    Submit abstracts for consideration by going to: Abstract Submission Form. A total of up to 40 abstracts will be accepted for presentation at the 2009 conference.


    PROCESS OF ABSTRACT REVIEW AND ACCEPTANCE:
    All submitted abstracts will be reviewed by a review panel selected by the 2009 Program Planning Committee. Abstracts will be accepted for presentation, combined as appropriate with other abstracts for joint presentation or not accepted for presentation.
    Notification to lead authors will occur by August 1, 2009.
    The lead author of each abstract accepted for presentation will be refunded their meeting registration cost up to $225 as an incentative.
